PRESENTATION
The COLBS INSTITUTE STUDY ABROAD Program is designed for international students wishing to stay in Chiangmai, Thailand studying subjects taught in English during one of the following periods:
Calendar
Spring: 13-14 weeks. (Mid February to End of June)
Fall: 13-14 weeks. (Mid August to End of November/1st week of December)
Highlights
In Fall and Spring semesters students can take between 3-4 courses, depending on the course the contact hours range from 50-75 hours of class time. (15-20 US credits).
Places are limited in 2021 to only 30 students for all courses.
Programmes start in Mid August (Fall semester) and February (Spring semester).
Students can choose subjects from the following fields in Business Administration: Operations Management, Finance, Entrepreneurship, Management Studies, Marketing and Human Resource Management.
Classes are held at the main COLBS INSTITUTE facilities building, 5 min away walking distance from city center. The city of Chiang Mai provides a very enriching international environment.
ABE UK Certification
On completing the term and after exams, students receive a Colbs Institute of Business Administration and ABE(Ofqual) certificate with official UK credits, ECTS and US equivalences that can be validated for credits at their home university. Please note that this program is not open to Erasmus or other exchange students. The process of obtaining transcripts and certificates takes normally up to 8 weeks.

ACADEMIC OFFER AND COURSES
We offer to students courses two types of courses:
1. First type is level 4 courses which in general are offered in year 1 of a Bachelor Degree in any UK university. These courses offer 15 UK credits (7.5 ECTS or 3.75 US credits). Students who choose these courses can enrol in 4 of them completing 15 US credits during a regular semester. These courses require 75 contact hours of class time each.
2. Second type of courses belong to levels 5 and 6 (belonging to second and third year of university in the UK). These courses offer 20 UK credits each (10 ECTS or 5 US credits). Courses level 5 (L5) require 70 hours of class each and courses level 6 (L6) require 50 hours of class each.

CALENDAR AND DATES
- Fall 2021. First day: August 20, 2021. Last day: November 18th, 2021. 13 weeks program.
- Spring 2022. First day: February 21st. Last day: June 10, 2022. 14 weeks program.

Spring and fall semesters:

Admission requirements
To apply to the programme students should meet the following requirements:
- Students must be enrolled at a university and must have completed at least 1 semester before applying to this programme.
- For all students the maximum number of credits is 20 US credits (80 UK credits) per semester.
- Students can spend 1, 2 or 3 terms on the programme (Fall + Spring + Summer)
The minimum entry requirement is a GPA of 2.75 on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent).
Application documents required
- A scanned copy of your home university Official Academic Transcript with the GPA or equivalent (if applicable).
- A scanned copy of your valid passport.
- A digital photo in jpeg format with a maximum weight of 24KB (passport size and type).
* If you are a non-native English speaker, a certificate of English Proficiency (minimum TOEFL 78, IELTS 6, Cambridge Advanced, First Certificate or equivalent).
Enrolment Periods
Summer 2021: 6 weeks program. (May 14th to June 26, 2021), Enrolment is open from January 1st to April 15th, 2021
Fall Term 2021 (August to November): Enrolment is open from March 1st to June 20th 2021
Spring term 2022: (Mid February to Mid June): Enrolment is open from September 1st until December 15th 2021
